Obtain strict regulation of nitrous oxide and a national prevention plan to protect young people.

Nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas,” no longer makes anyone laugh.
It can be found everywhere: in late-night grocery stores, on delivery websites, and sometimes even in front of high schools. A canister costs 1 euro, and a single night can consume 20… and behind this are neurological damage, memory loss, and serious accidents.
While young people end up in emergency rooms, some sellers continue to profit from it. Nitrous oxide has become a highly lucrative business, yet it remains legal. Despite sales restrictions to minors, it is still easily accessible online with just a few clicks.
The danger is real.
In France, in 2025, approximately 3,500 road deaths were recorded, and nitrous oxide is involved in an increasing number of accidents, according to road safety authorities.
We can no longer turn a blind eye.
This is a public health issue.
The government must inform, prevent, and protect. Now.
We demand:
a strict and effectively enforced regulation of nitrous oxide sales,
enhanced control of physical and online outlets,
a national prevention plan in middle schools, high schools, and festive venues,
clear public communication about neurological and road safety risks.
