Objective
Adopt legislation prohibiting access to social networks for children under 15 with strict and verifiable age control
Children under the age of 15 are today exposed to a digital environment that has never been designed for them. Despite the theoretical age restrictions, millions of young people access TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, or YouTube every day without real protection. The consequences are now well documented: explosion of cyberbullying, anxiety disorders, loss of self-esteem, exposure to violent or sexualized content, screen addiction, sleep disturbances, and social isolation.
Platforms claim to protect minors, but the facts show the opposite. Age controls are non-existent or easily bypassed in seconds. Algorithms continue to push potentially dangerous content because their priority remains engagement, not safety.
We can no longer let children face a digital space that far exceeds their emotional maturity alone. That is why we are calling for a simple and effective measure: ban access to social networks for those under 15, with strict, verifiable, and mandatory age verification for all platforms.
This measure would protect young people's mental health, reduce cyberbullying, limit exposure to toxic content, and give parents a clear framework. Other countries have already started to act. France must take responsibility.
By signing this petition, you are asking the government and platforms to prioritize children's safety over economic interests. Protecting minors online is not an option: it is an emergency.
